Safefood launches all-island awareness campaign on energy drinks
Safefood, an all-island body supporting the Departments of Health North and South in the development of evidence-based food policy, has launched an awareness campaign Lifting the Lid on Energy Drinks. The body has highlighted that some drinks contain up to 17 teaspoons of sugar and that they are not suitable for children and young people under 16 years of age, for rehydration after exercise or as a mixer with alcohol.
