Mid-Term Review of Northern Ireland’s Tobacco Strategy
Papers

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland undertook a mid-term review of its Ten-Year Tobacco Control Strategy (2012-2022), with a view to making recommendations for its remaining term.

The goals of the strategy are:

- Fewer people starting to smoke

- More smokers quitting

- Protecting people from tobacco smoke

To inform the Department’s mid-term review, the Institute of Public Health completed an evidence review and a stakeholder engagement report which are available below. Evidence Review This review presents evidence relating to the existing approaches set out in the strategy and its action plans. It also considered evidence on potential new approaches.
