The Department of Education and Skills and Healthy Ireland are encouraging schools in the Republic of Ireland to organise their Active School Week. There are a range of supportive resources include lesson plans, posters and achievement certificates. This initiative is supported by the wider Active School Flag programme which operates in 655 schools serving over 137,000 pupils. Active School Flag is recognised as a flagship initiative within Ireland’s National Physical Activity Plan.
