The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) has created a new web resource called www.dementiaresearch.ie to support those working in the field of dementia.
The site provides a summary and overview of data, research and policy on dementia across the island of Ireland (between 2010 and 2014). It allows users to search by keywords or undertake a more specific advanced search. The results will provide a summary and an indication of where to access further details.
Director of the Ageing Research and Development Division at IPH, Prof. Roger O’Sullivan explains: “researchers, policymakers and those working in the voluntary and community sector now have a single online resource that provides an overview of dementia data, policy and research in Ireland, North and South. This resource can also help save time, identify data gaps and support networking”.
Dr O’Sullivan added, “I would like to thank Dr Maria Pierce and Dr Patricia McParland for undertaking the research that was used to develop this user friendly web portal and the funding provided by The Atlantic Philanthropies.”
