Policy Briefs: Prohibition of single-use vapes in Northern Ireland & Tobacco and Vapes Bill

The Institute of Public Health (IPH) recently developed policy briefs on proposals to ban disposable vapes in Northern Ireland and UK-wide proposals to create a smoke-free generation. 

Northern Ireland intends to prohibit the sale and supply of single use vapes by April 2025, bringing Northern Ireland in parallel with the rest of the UK.

The UK Tobacco and Vapes Bill  seeks to create a smoke-free generation by banning the sale of tobacco to anyone born after 1 January 2009.
