Available are Neil Riley's presentation on recent reforms of the Public Health system in Wales. Three projects representing collaboration by members of the Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO) across the “five nations” of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland were also presented: the Injury Observatory for Britain and Ireland (IOBI); Health Indicators in the European Regions (ISARE); and the “five nations” indicators report.

The PLA Toolkit is a toolkit for evaluating and developing complex interventions based on the Programme Logic Approach (PLA). Organised by the London Health Observatory & Smokefree London, the event took place on 13th February 2007 in London. The notes from the event as well as the presentations are now available online, including a presentation given by Kevin P Balanda, Director of INIsPHO.
Kevin P Balanda was invited to talk about the introduction of the smoking-ban in Ireland and gave a presentation on the role of the PHOs in monitoring the impact of the smoke-free workplace legislation from an Irish point of view. His presentation can be downloaded from below.

The Inaugural All-Ireland Health Intelligence Conference, which focuses on improving health and reducing health inequalities, including the issue of health service planning and delivery, was officially opened today (Tuesday , November 7th) by Professor Brendan Drumm, CEO of the Health Service Executive. The launch of first report of The Irish Diabetes Prevalence Working Group, Ireland and Northern Ireland's Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO), Institute of Public Health in Ireland will be held on 12 June 2006.

The test version of the PHIS (Online) website, designed to be a ‘first port of call’ for population health information, will be launched on 19th January 2006.
It includes:
a web version of the Department of Health and Children’s Public Health Information Health Information (PHIS (CD);
a web version of the Core Tales for the Northern Ireland Directors of Public Health Annual Reports; and
Over 400 resources (research reports; policy, strategy and programme documents; evaluation reports; indicator sets and data sets).
