Presentation on Informing efforts to tackle obesity: How could an all-Ireland Obesity Observatory contribute?
Date published: Published by: Author: |
The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) promotes North-South cooperation for public health on the island of Ireland. Tackling inequalities in health is at the heart of all that it does. Ireland and Northern Ireland's Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO) is housed in the Institute.
The Institute is a partner in two recently established research centres:
- The Centre of Excellence for Public Health (Northern Ireland) (QUB)
- The HRB Centre for Health and Health Research (UCC/UCD)
As part of their work programmes, the Institute and the two research centres wish to explore how an all-Ireland obesity observatory might contribute to efforts to tackle obesity on the island. This workshop is one of two being run across the island to gather input from policy makers, clinicians and other practitioners.
