The North South Alcohol Policy Advisory Group has developed a report entitled “Reducing alcohol-related harm by addressing alcohol availability – maximising benefits from North South cooperation”.
The group was constituted at the request of the Chief Medical Officers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and is facilitated by the Institute of Public Health in Ireland. Its work takes place in the context of the Republic of Ireland’s Steering Group Report on a National Substance Misuse Strategy and Northern Ireland’s New Strategic Direction on Alcohol and Drugs Phase 2.
The North South Alcohol Policy Advisory Group is committed to strengthening collaboration and coordination to tackle alcohol related problems across the island and we hope that this paper will be of use to you in this regard.
