New report on injuries in the Republic of Ireland
1 Dec 2009
The Department of Health and Children has launched a report on the occurrence of injuries in the Republic of Ireland. The report is part of a series from the Survey of Lifestyles, Attitudes and Nutrition (SLÁN) 2007. The data represent the first information on injuries treated outside hospital. To gain a more complete overview of injuries in the Republic of Ireland, the report also presents data from Health Behaviour in School-aged Children 2006, injury presentations to emergency departments, injury-related hospital discharges, and injury-related mortality. The data highlight the extent of the problem in Ireland and provide information on key areas and populations for prevention of injuries in Ireland.
