All-Ireland Health Data Inventory. Part 1: Metadata for key data sources

1 Oct 2007

The All-Ireland Health Data Inventory. Part 1: Metadata for key data sources is a catalogue of the relevant datasets from the major information reviews, conducted in the North and South of Ireland, in the last couple of years. It also includes the data sources listed in the INIsPHO (Online) Library. The Data Inventory uses the metadata standards published by INIsPHO in 2005 to systematically describe around one hundred and fifty selected data sources from across the island. The Inventory aims to play a key role in promoting awareness, access and use of up-to-date information. An expanding numbering system has been used and a form to suggest new datasets is available, so that the Inventory can be easily updated.

The Data Inventory will be launched on 13 November 2007 at the INIsPHO ‘Sharing Information’ Health Intelligence Lecture to be held at the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, 10:30am.

The All-Ireland Health Data Inventory can be downloaded as a pdf from our publications section.

Details of, and links to individual datasets are also available on the IPH eLibrary.
