Health Analysts' Special Interest Group

Click here for more details on the upcoming HASIG Seminar; 'Indicators of the Social Determinants of Health' which will be held on the 5th of May in Athlone IT.
The aim of HASIG is to support the community of health analysts to make a more effective contribution to the health intelligence function and allow them to share their expertise and experience through a network of colleagues across the island of Ireland.
HASIG supports members by:
- providing day-to-day support and advice;
- holding seminars on topics of interest;
- creating a forum to discuss data sources and analytical techniques;
- assisting in the contribution to professional development.
Health information makes a critical contribution to the delivery of effective health services and the development of healthy public policy. However, health analysts often work without vital support.

How to become a member of the Health Analysts' Special Interest Group
You can become a member of HASIG by signing up to the Contact, Help, Advice and Information Network (CHAIN). Select the CHAIN component you would like to join, fill in your personal details and under the Sub-Groups heading you will find the “Quality Improvement” cross-cutting subgroup. Beneath this is a list of the different special interest groups where you can select Health Analysts.
The Health Analysts’ Special Interest Group (HASIG) is part of the Quality Improvement sub-group of CHAIN.
CHAIN (Contact, Help, Advice and Information Network) is an online network for people working in health and social care. CHAIN is both multi-professional and cross-organisational and is based around specific areas of interest. This gives people a simple and informal way of contacting each other to exchange ideas and share knowledge.
Currently 387 persons have joined the group through the CHAIN website. The majority of members are from across the island of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
