  • IMPACT - Health Impact Assessment Training Course

  • HIA 2012: HIA Matters in Health in All Policies, 29-31 August 2012
    Québec City will be hosting the 12th International Conference on HIA. The Conference has a general goal to advance HIA practice in light of new knowledge, to prove its relevance, and to stimulate its use in various public and private decision-making contexts. It is intended for all people whose decisions and actions may have an impact on health.  A call for abstracts will be launched at the end of January and further information is available at www.hia2012.ca
    The Conference is organised by the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec (Ministry of Health and Social Services), the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (National Public Health Institute), the University of Montréal - School of Public Health, the National Collaborating Centre for Healthy Public Policy, and the National School of Public Administration - Study Group on Public Policy and Health.
  • Health Impact Assessment Webinar, 6 October 2011
    The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), hosted a webinar to to provide a brief introduction to Health Impact Assessments (HIA) and highlight CDC’s Healthy Community Design Initiative’s work on HIA and healthy built environments.   Further information on CDC and HIA work programmes available here.

  • Equity Action - Joint Action on Health Inequalities, EU launch, September 2011
    IPH is an Associate Partner in a new EU project.  Equity Action - Joint Action on Health Inequalities is a three year project which seeks to develop tools to improve the health equity focus in cross government policy making.  HIA is a core element of this programme.  Further information on the project available here.

  • HIA Forum, 8 November 2011
    The aim of these meetings is to provide participants with the opportunity to hear about and discuss issues relevant to HIA. The topic under discussion at the most recent meeting was HIA: a tool to support policy development which took place at Farset International, Belfast.  Check out further information here.

  • Putting a health inequalities focus on the Northern Ireland cardiovascular service framework, 1 June 2011
    The Public Health Agency Northern Ireland (PHA) launched the health impact assessment of the Cardiovascular Service Framework on 1 June 2011.  Press release and associated reports may be found here.

  • 12th International Conference on Health Impact Assessment (HIA), From One Continent to Another: How HIA Matters in Health in All Policies

  • IPH - HIA Forum, November 2010
    A series of HIA Forum meetings were held in November 2010. How HIA can support local government and health promotion action on sustainable travel was the theme of the Cork session on 4 November and how can HIA support local government action on health inequalities was the theme of the session held on 15 November at Island Civic Centre, Lisburn.   Check out further information here.
  • Institute of Public Health in Ireland: 9th Comprehensive HIA training course, March 2011

  • IPH - HIA Forum, Tuesday 27 April 2010, Dublin
    HIA: a tool to support action on health inequalities. Guest speakers included a representative from the World Health Organisation who spoke on how to use HIA to support action on health inequalities.  Check out further information here.

  • 3rd Asia and Pacific HIA Conference, 17-19 November 2010
    This conference took place in the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. The primary host was the Health, Equity and Wellbeing Impact Assessment Research Unit in the University, in association with a number of other groups.  Further details available here.
